Culford Day Nursery Bury St Edmunds is situated in very pleasant surroundings backing on to woodland, 4 miles north of Bury St Edmunds on the B1106 Brandon Road and 8 miles from Thetford. The Nursery is registered for 16 children aged 2 - 5 years.

Since Culford Day Nursery, Bury St Edmunds, opened in 1991, we have established a reputation of providing excellent care and education in a small, family orientated environment. (Our last OFSTED report rated us as "GOOD" and stated that "Children's health and safety are given high regard").

The nursery building offers spacious and airy rooms and varied equipment and resources; together with our qualified, experienced and caring staff, this provides a stimulating and FUN environment for the children.

Children also have access to a large enclosed garden and a barked area for the climbing apparatus. Connecting the nursery to the garden is a paved covered terrace which enables the children to have all year round outside play.

Nursery staff organise a birthday party There is a high ratio of adults to children.

Our staff are chosen for their caring, sympathetic natures, are fully qualified to levels 3 and 4 and continue their professional development with on-going training. Training includes first-aid, safeguarding children and developing the curriculum for the children.

The staff morale is strong and they work very well together as a cohesive and experienced team.

Culford Day Nursery is situated in a child-friendly, purpose-built addition to the owner's home in the village of Culford, close to Bury St Edmunds.

The children can have an enjoyable time in the well-planned and interesting environment, with safety and caring for the children being the utmost paramount feature.

During inside play, children have the freedom of a quiet room for stories, singing, registration, circle time, music and resting.

Within the main playroom, the children have the opportunity to explore construction, mark making, exploring numbers, cooking, snack and mealtimes, table top games, jigsaws and sorting.

In the creative room, the children can explore their senses with malleable play materials, paint, art work, role play and use their imaginations while being creative.

Outside in the enclosed garden, the children have plenty of opportunities for physical play and fresh air.

Covered terrace gives opportunities for play and picnics, whatever the weather

The covered terrace is used to ensure outside play is available all the year round.

It is also used for outdoor picnics - always popular!

The children have their own builder's yard on the bark area to develop gross motor skills.

There is a large covered sandpit, climbing frames, slides, trundle toys, water play, bats and balls.

The main garden is fully enclosed.

There is a section of the garden where the children have their own vegetable garden for growing a variety of flowers and vegetables.

The children are also able to take care of the Guinea Pig in the garden.
