Since the nursery opened in 1991 we have established a reputation of providing excellent care and education in a small family orientated environment.
The building has recently been extended and renovated to provide spacious and airy rooms, which together with all the varied equipment and resources, and qualified and caring staff, helps to provide a stimulating and FUN environment for the children. There is a large enclosed garden and a barked area for the climbing toys. Connecting the nursery to the garden is a paved covered terrace which enables the children to have all year round outside play.

Nursery Aims |
|
| 1 | To provide a safe and happy environment where children can learn through play and exploration to develop self-confidence, independence, respect for themselves, and their peers and possessions, social skills and positive attitude towards their learning. |
| 2 | To provide high quality care and education for children of pre-school age. |
| 3 | To work in partnership with parents and to enable the children to learn and develop to their full potential. |
| 4 | To implement The Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework. |
The Nursery is open from: 8am -6pm Monday to Friday, all year round, and divided into two sessions: 8am - 1pm and 1pm - 6pm. Children may arrive at a time that is convenient to parents and this also applies to the time a child is collected. The nursery is closed between Christmas and the New Year.
We are very aware of the importance of children eating healthy and nutritious food. We provide home-cooked meals and the staff eat with the children to encourage good table manners, eating habits and social skills. A cooked lunch and tea are provided together with healthy snacks of fruit/vegetables in the morning and afternoon. A weekly menu is always on display.
The EYFS is split into four Themes. These are as follows:
A Unique Child: Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
Positive Relationships: Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or key person.
Enabling Environments: The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning.
Learning and Development: Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates and all areas of Learning and Development are equally important and inter-connected.
